The INFECTON project aims to develop a diagnostic platform for detecting biomarkers related to infectious diseases of bacterial and viral origin.
Research groups from Centro de Física de Materiales, DIPC, UPV/EHU, and being members of Fotonika community, participate jointly in a project supported by the Euskampus COVID-19 Resilience Programme. Through an interdisciplinary approach of combining computational and experimental biochemistry, plasmonics, robotics anda machine learning, the INFECTON project aims to develop a diagnostic platform for detecting biomarkers related to infectious diseases of bacterial and viral origin. It is expected that the project will have an immediate impact by offering an alternative to the current means of diagnosis for the COVID-19. It will also be readily applied to other types of viral or bacterial infection.
