Description
(MICRO-NANO)FABRICATION for PHOTONICS
The Micro-Nanofabrication Platform is included in the Industry&Transport Division of Tecnalia Research and Innovation. Over 10 researchers (50% doctors) have an extensive experience in micro-nanofabrication techniques like: nanolithography, photolithography, microcontact printing or others like screen-printing, ink-jet printing, etc.. The platform is fully equipped. Partially located in a Clean Room, it is completed with equipment needed in handling of materials, surface modification, curing systems and characterization (AFM, SEM, etc..). The experience has been acquired in several European projects where we have fabricated photonic crystals sensors, microring resonators, etc.. in collaboration with European groups included University of Bordeaux.
Other equipment of interest are the Lasers available for several fabrication processes (texturing, cutting, etc..) with specific mention to a VCSEL system for thermal treatments.VECSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) is able to provide spatially and temporally controllable temperature profiles at large areas of the workpiece. Applied after the coating application, offers a pioneering solution to produce products with enhanced functionalities without affect the properties of the base material. Tecnalia owns a test-bed composed by 4,8kW VCSEL system distributed in 24 laser arrays that includes the DataVCSEL® software registered by Tecnalia: an on-line temperature control system for laser power management.
